Senior Civil Designer - Bridge

 

Location: Anywhere in Canada - Remote

 

Bentley Systems is seeking a skilled Bridge engineer to join the Civil Team. The position is a Senior Quality Analyst for Bridge. This position plays an important role as part of the Product Advancement team, by applying their technical knowledge, experience and skillset to the validation of Bridge Design and Analysis Software products. The Senior Quality Analyst for Bridge is a Bridge design subject matter expert with proven practical experience in the field including bridge design specifications, the use of software to create and design a bridge and the verification of the calculations. They will work collaboratively with other quality analysts, product management and development teams across multiple product lines.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Understand and analyze Civil product requirements

  • Test and simulate the designing of bridge projects using Civil products, especially OpenBridge Modeler

  • Review and analyze output calculations and analytics from the products

  • Create and execute bridge design workflow tests

  • Create validation and failure analysis for automated tests

  • Detect, evaluate, and log software bugs/defects

  • Collaborate with other team members and product managers to accomplish the testing and development objectives for the Civil products

  • Test use of civil products integrated with other Bentley products such as ProjectWise and iModel apps.

 

Skills/ Experience:

  • Analytical mindset, ability to work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment.

  • Proficiency in CAD design software such as MicroStation, OpenRoads Designer, or Open Bridge Modeler

  • Proven work experience as a Bridge Engineer or similar role, using advanced analysis software (examples include PLAXIS, STAAD, Midas, CSI Bridge, etc.) and good working knowledge of Excel, Mathcad, and Word and PowerPoint

  • Strong understanding of structural analysis.

  • Good communication skills, fluent in English and must work well in a team environment

  • Must exhibit initiative and be a self-starter who can manage multiple tasks simultaneously with minimal supervision.

  • Aptitude to analyze information, develop recommendations and present proposed solutions.

 

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering

  • Structural/Geotechnical engineering knowledge or master’s degree in this field is a plus.
