Position Summary
Bentley Systems is seeking a talented individual to become a valued member of our successful team as a China Legal Counsel. You will support the China sales team in the review, negotiation and finalization of standard commercial contracts.
Responsibilities

Manage Legal Affairs Specialist.

Review Purchase Orders and other user terms and conditions for the purchase of software licenses and related services.

Assist sales, professional services and Bentley’s proposal team in responding to RFPs.

Prepare standard Bentley Subcontractor Agreements and manage the subcontractor approval process.

Process, file and track legal invoices.
-
Review and negotiate marketing and event agreements.

Handle property lease negotiations.
-
Assist with corporate compliance and related filings for Bentley subsidiaries, including China WFOEs and branch offices.

Work with external counsel and local legal service providers to ensure Bentley’s compliance with local rules and regulations.

Manage disputes and potential litigation.

Draft correspondence and other legal documents.

Supervisory Responsibilities
Required Knowledge, Skills or Abilities
-
At least five years’ experience as a lawyer or legal advisor
-
University degree in a law discipline
-
Bar qualification is an advantage
-
Foreign law degree, such as an LLM, is an advantage
-
Familiarity with the high tech industry, software business, and/or software licensing agreements is an advantage
-
Prior in-house experience, particularly in a foreign-invested enterprise, is an advantage
-
Excellent communication and drafting skills in Chinese and English
-
Proactive, well-organized and professional
-
Ability to exercise good judgment, prioritize tasks and work independently
-
Ability to work closely with sales staff and management, customers, finance, contract management group and other internal departments.
