Procurement Specialist

 

Location: Home-based, US (EDT preferred)

 

Position Summary:

 

The Procurement Specialist plays a crucial role in the procurement process of goods and services for an organization. 

 

The Procurement Specialist is responsible for acquiring goods and services required by the organization at the best possible price, while ensuring quality, quantity, and timely delivery. They collaborate with vendors, negotiate contracts, and maintain relationships to optimize the procurement process. 

 

Your Day-to-Day: 

 

  • Vendor Management: Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers. Maintain strong relationships with vendors to ensure reliability and favorable terms.
  • Negotiation: Negotiate pricing, terms, and conditions with suppliers to achieve cost savings and favorable contract terms.
  • PR Processing: Process purchase orders and ensure timely delivery of goods and services. Monitor and track orders to ensure compliance with contracts.
  • Cost Analysis: Conduct cost analysis and market research to identify cost-saving opportunities and trends in the market.
  • Contract Management: Draft, review, and manage contracts. Ensure compliance with legal and organizational requirements.
  • Quality Control: Collaborate with stakeholders to define quality standards. Monitor and enforce quality control measures in procurement.
  • Risk Management: Identify and mitigate potential risks in the procurement process. Develop contingency plans to address unforeseen issues.
  • Policy Compliance: Ensure adherence to organizational procurement policies, ethical standards, and relevant regulations.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of procurement activities, contracts, and vendor communications.
  • Reporting: Generate reports on procurement metrics, cost savings, and vendor performance for management review. 

 

What You Bring to the Team:

 

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, a related field, or relevant training and experience. 
  • 5-7 years of proven experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain management.
  • Strong negotiation skills and understanding of contract terms.
  • Knowledge of relevant laws and regulations related to procurement.
  • Experience using Workday and SaaS is required.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational abilities.
  • Proficient in using procurement software and tools.
  • This is a full-time role expected to work 40 hours per week, remote-based in the US.
  • Requires sitting or standing at will while performing work on a computer (or any other physical requirements). The role requires communication with managers, peers, and other colleagues of the company in person (on occasion), and by utilizing Microsoft Teams chat, calling, and meeting functions.
  • This role requires 1 trip per year to the corporate office in Exton, PA.
