Position Summary:

 

The Digital Business Enablement team is responsible for partnering with our business stakeholders to deliver optimized processes, systems, and data capabilities to grow our business. These solutions provided by Digital Business Enablement are the core of our user's experience engaging with Bentley internally and externally. We are looking for an application integration engineer who can design and execute modern integrations between various enterprise applications.

The ideal candidate will be an engineer who can coordinate across the organization to understand business processes to deliver seamless integrations across systems. The integration portfolio will include a mix of integration patterns ranging from classic file transfer to point-to-point, event based, publish, and subscribe, webhooks, and streaming integration services. This application integration engineer will contribute to enterprise integration design, development, testing, and maintain a well-defined portfolio of integrations between various enterprise applications such as Workday and Salesforce. The engineer will also provide technical guidance, mentoring and support to the integration team, and as needed will work with the business analysis and testers to assure the integration solution meets the business requirements. 

 

We will rely on you for the following:

  • Ability to work with non-technical and technical personnel to understand the needed data that is driving the need for integration, along with the mapping/translations needed between the source and target systems.
  • Design and develop integrations using various technologies and tools, such as REST APIs, SOAP APIs, XML, JSON, ETL, etc.
  • Test and troubleshoot integrations using various methods and tools, such as unit testing, integration testing, debugging, logging, etc.
  • Document and maintain integration specifications, standards and best practices.
  • Monitor and support integrations in production and resolve any issues or incidents.
  • Research and evaluate new integration technologies and trends.
  • Manage DevOps for the entire lifecycle of the integration development effort.
  • Participate in managing the enterprise portfolio of integrations, and consequently support data governance and compliance initiatives. 
  • Research and evaluate new technologies and trends in the integration domain and recommend appropriate solutions.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate complex technical information in a condensed manner to various stakeholders verbally and in writing.

 

 

What You Bring to the Team:

 

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, engineering, or related field.
  • At least 3+ years of experience in designing, developing, and delivering system integrations across multiple enterprise applications.
  • Proven knowledge and experience with one or more integration technologies and tools, such as REST APIs, SOAP APIs, XML, JSON, ETL, etc.  Strong problem-solving, analytical and communication skills.
  • Experience using integration tools and frameworks such as Kafka, Apigee, MuleSoft, Apache Camel, Spring Integration, Matillion, Denodo, etc.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong communication skills; effective communication in written and verbal form.
